I recently had the privilege of meeting jewelry designer, Njuhi Chege, the founder and brains behind RiRi.
RiRi, meaning 'alluring" in Kikuyu, is a Kenyan social enterprise. They produce amazing hand
made jewllery from recycled and eco-friendly elements such as bone, glass, wood, horn and brass.
Nuuhi gifted me this beautiful Riri Signature Half Sun neck piece. The piece was inspired by the desire to promote peace and equality among all. It is symbolic of the Sun’s rays. This piece is created to embody the spirit of Ubuntu; The act of being humane to others and nature. It is made from white cow bone spikes- White is the color of peace, purity and innocence. The beads comprise of Amber and West African glass beads. While Njuhi and RiRi is based in Africa, you can visit their online store.
